Finding my creative voice
Like many creatives I started to draw from a young age and was rarely seen without a pencil or crayon in my hand for most of my childhood. However, when it became time for college I chose to study languages, history of religion and information- and library sciences instead of art or design. But the need to express myself creatively soon took up most of my free time , and I started to study art, illustration and design on the side. I took evening classes in illustration and figure drawing at a local school, learned to use Photoshop, inDesign and Ilustrator through Udemy, read art books by Andrew Loomis and James Gurney and watched all the online art videos I could find. Having tried many different methods and techniques during the last years, from traditional ink, oil painting and watercolors to black and white portraits and highly rendered digital art, I have now found my voice through photo manipulation and compositing. I continue to hone my craft, one Photoshop layer at a time.

Mythology and Fantasy art
For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by storytelling, literature, myth and magic. I grew up with fairy tails about mischievous gnomes (vättar), magical portals to enchanted realms, trolls and the fair maidens they fell in love with. I devoured folktales about Scandinavian mythical beings such as fairies, Näcken, the forest nymph, the house gnomes and all the other creatures who were said to exist in the shadows of an old forest. When I grew older, I discovered the writings of Selma Lagerlöf, where spirits and mythical beings are a natural part of any story. That of course led me to also fall in love with books by J.R.R Tolkien, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett and George R.R. Martin among many others. In other words, it is not a coincidence that my personal art primarily revolves around these themes, and I'm happiest when I get to lose myself in a John Bauer-like forest with a hint of magic and mystical beings behind every tree trunk or mushroom.
